Scent From The Past

Old Spice wasn’t always the cult classic aftershave we know today. Surprisingly, it launched as a women’s fragrance. But when that didn’t take off, the brand pivoted, introducing its second fragrance, “Old Spice,” in 1938. When World War II began, founder William Lightfoot Schultz repurposed his factories for military production. This shift helped Old Spice gain global recognition as US soldiers carried it worldwide.
