Inside the DF-12's Heating System: How It Keeps Board Bonding Consistent
Heat consistency is what separates a reliable double backer from one that produces uneven, weak bonds — and it's the core of the DF-12's design. The unit runs 12 to 22 heating plates depending on line configuration, each 150mm in height with ground-polished, chrome-plated surfaces built to release heat evenly across the full board width. Above each plate sit five to six weight rollers, with lift and lower motion handled hydraulically and contact pressure fine-tuned pneumatically — giving operators two separate, adjustable controls rather than one fixed setting for heat transfer and mechanical pressure. In the dedicated heating section, thin-type steel hot plates measuring 120mm (H) × 600mm (W) × 2650mm (L) are arranged across 20 plates, backed by a hydraulic press-shoe unit and three-section steam pressure control. A 15-inch channel steel main frame keeps the whole assembly rigid under continuous heat and pressure. For plants running single or double wall board, that level of independent control is what keeps bonding quality steady from the first sheet to the last.
