Kailash is located in northern Pulan County, Ngari Prefecture of western Tibet. Kailash is the main peak of Mount Gangdise and the highest peak in the western area of the Gangdise Range. It's one of the four sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as it is considered as the center of the World by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan original religion Bon and ancient Jainism.
In Tibet, the greatest wish of a Buddhist's whole life is to make a pilgrimage in Kailash. Because they believe that only one circle around Kailash can wash away all the SINS during lifetime, and ten turns will protect you from hell in 500 circles, and the one who turns a hundreds times can ascend to heaven and to be a Buddha. Therefore, every summer, a large number of believers from Tibetan areas and tourists from various areas of China come to Tachin at the foot of the sacred mountain, ready to turn circles around the mountain, and pilgrims from India, Bhutan and Nepal also gather here. Most people choose to turn clockwise. On the way to circle the mountains, everyone will experience the scenery of the seasons.
