Polyester fiber is a synthetic fiber made from purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG). It is a category of polymers that contain the ester functional group in their main chain. Polyester fibers have good chemical and physical properties that make them useful for a wide variety of applications.

Compared to natural fibers like cotton, Polyester Fiber  has superior mechanical properties due to its highly oriented structure during polymerization. It is known for its high strength, excellent crease resistance and good abrasion resistance. Polyester fiber is also resistant to chemicals like sunlight, sweat and moisture, maintaining its strength and appearance over many washing and drying cycles. However, it is combustible and melts at high temperatures.
