Managing a small business can be challenging, especially if you’re working from home. That’s why it’s important to keep up with the latest technology trends and developments in the industry. Many small business owners find themselves using manual systems or developing workarounds to solve issues with their current software. This can distract you from focusing on what matters most to your business.

Brisbane International Motor Show

The Brisbane International Motor Show (formerly the Brisbane Truck Show) is a major annual event for the trucking industry in Queensland, Australia. Held in February, it features an exciting range of displays and events, including the National Apprentice Challenge and a state-of-the-art Jobs Hub for apprentices and drivers looking for work. It also attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a major driver for the economy, with local businesses reaping the benefits.

The venue features a large central hall and a number of pavilions including New Zealand with its animated Footrot Flats show and glow worm cave; Australia with its special effects Dreamtime Theatre; Japan with its Japan Pond and Garden; and Switzerland with its 3-level hand-crafted Nepalese Peace Pagoda.

The event’s long-term partners include BP Australia, NTI and Wurth and the prestigious RACQ MotorFest. It is also supported by a range of other leading companies, including insurance brokers, automotive manufacturers and truck dealers. Queensland Small Business Week

Queensland Small Business Week (QSBW) is a state-wide series of events and activities that recognise the vital contribution small businesses make to our economy, providing the backbone for many local economies across the state. The event is run by a number of councils and business associations, with more than 160 events held in May. These events include workshops and seminars and are designed to help people start, grow or improve their businesses.

The QSBW also includes a free mentorship program called Mentoring for Growth, which connects eligible businesses with a panel of business mentoring experts. The program aims to support small and medium-sized businesses with growth opportunities and commercial challenges.

Another important initiative is the 100 Faces of Small Business, which shines a light on the diverse range of small businesses across Queensland. These businesses are the heart of our communities, and each has a story to tell. The program showcases the stories of entrepreneurs, such as Angelo Puglisi from Ballandean Estate Wines. It also recognises the contributions of indigenous businesses and communities. The program is supported by the Queensland Government and a range of industry stakeholders.
