We can’t wait to meet you! *The Dance Class is one of the most famous paintings at The Met and looks so real, it’s been featured in school textbooks.

Hey Chica

Hey Chica is the newest Latin-American inspired nightclub to fling open its doors in Brunswick Street Mall. Brought to you by the Hallmark Group (the owners of crowd favourites Retro’s Cocktail Lounge, Lefty’s Music Hall and Finn McCool’s Irish Bar), Hey Chica is a trip to Cuba in your very own backyard.

Influenced by a neighbourhood street party, the social club features kaleidoscope decor and pulsating beats that set the scene for dancing the night away with your crew. Tasty bites like crispy pork belly bites, lambondigas or kingfish ceviche serve as delicious appetizers while the menu includes a range of tasty sandwiches and bowls to satisfy your hunger pangs.

In a private message to James, the venue apologised for the 'unintended distress' but still stood by its policy of not allowing people with facial tattoos that can be linked to criminal organisations, such as bikie gangs, into the club. So, if you’re a face-tattooed partier, Hey Chica is definitely not for you.

Lefty’s Music Hall

After a brief hiatus due to COVID restrictions, Lefty’s is back, and it’s got a foot-stomping line-up to prove it. The honky-tonk saloon, which was formerly Baroona Hall, is all about vintage Americana reborn and re-invigorated. From the red walls and chandeliers to the gilded mirrors and taxidermy animals, this is a place for old-time opulence, in which you can dance and sip whisky apple cocktails.

Staying close to Suncorp Stadium is easy, with serviced apartment-style options offering comfort and convenience in a prime location. Mantra South Bank Brisbane, a short drive away, offers stylish open-plan suites adorned with artwork by Michael Johnson and modern kitchenette amenities that add a level of flexibility to your stay. Make the most of your visit with nearby attractions such as the Gallery of Modern Art, Anzac Square and Memorial Galleries and Victoria Barracks Museum.

Mi Casa

Mi Casa features three individual studios with high-end 5.1 home theaters, as well as a dedicated pre/post production suite. Each studio has its own unique layout with high-end furniture, lighting, and technology. The facility also has three private dressing rooms and a large living room.

The group’s first single, “These Streets”, landed them a top position on every South African chart and led to a number of accolades, including SAMA’s Newcomer of the Year nomination. Since then, the band has carved out a distinct lane and sound in the country’s dance floors.

The latest album, We Made It, showcases the band’s most honest work yet. It’s an amalgam of different styles, leaning towards deep electronic house and Amapiano with a touch of RB. This project is inspired by the band’s own personal journey and experiences.

Superfly Disco

Superfly Disco is the newest party place in the heart of Fortitude Valley. Taking over the former site of late noughties bar Alhambra Lounge, this luxe nightclub is a throwback to what nightspots used to be. Its fitout leans into the tunes, attitude and decor of five decades back with walls of records, mirrored tiles and (tongue-in-cheek) slogans. Disco balls abound, including in the bathrooms, and murals of music icons such as John Lennon peer down from above.

You can dance the night away on the light up dance floor and boogie to retro hits from DJs spinning from the custom Rolls Royce DJ booth. There are plenty of swanky private booths available to book too. Drinks-wise, they’re stocked with beers and classic cocktails. A must-try is the Disco Superfly Pale Ale from Mikerphone, a Chicago brewery that combines a love of awesome tunes with a passion for juicy hops.

The Beat

The Beat is one of Brisbane’s biggest gay dance clubs. It features multiple bars and rooms, including the popular Cockatoo Club. Its mix of drag acts and DJs keeps the party going all night long. The venue also features a cafeteria and an onsite shop. Entry is free before 10pm on Fridays, and cover is $14 after that.

Despite the setback, The Beat went on to record the second album, Wha’ppen?, in 1981. Cox and Steele left the band, but Wakeling and Ranking Roger both fielded touring versions of the group into the 2000s. The latter’s edition toured with a sax player, and its last album, 2018’s Here We Go Love, featured a new lineup. The group’s lead vocalist, Goodna rapper Lisi, joined them.
