At AdvantageCare Physicians, a pilot study explored how a comprehensive care team around a cardiology specialist can improve quality of care, efficiency, and access within a multispecialty healthcare system. By implementing care team extenders like medical assistants and a cardiac procedure coordinator, significant increases in patient visits, echocardiograms, and new consults were achieved, with enhanced patient access and satisfaction.
