Most chess players don’t actually lose games in the opening.
And they don’t usually lose them in the endgame either.
They lose them somewhere in the middle. Quietly. Confusingly. One “harmless” move at a time.
The chess middle game is where things stop being scripted. No opening book to lean on. No obvious checkmates yet. Just positions, pressure, ideas, and choices that feel… uncomfortable. This is where many players stall, even after years of playing.
