Foundations Care is an Australian non-profit that, for over 20 years, has provided trauma-informed out-of-home care—including foster, kinship, residential, and youth justice services—to more than 300 children, young people, and their families annually across NSW, Queensland, and WA. They focus on prioritising children’s safety, emotional wellbeing, and sense of belonging by carefully matching placements and maintaining cultural, community, and familial connections. Foundations Care supports foster and kinship carers through comprehensive recruitment, ongoing training, clinical support, 24/7 access to caseworkers, and financial allowances. Their evidence-based, collaborative approach—developed in partnership with government agencies, behavioural-science experts, Aboriginal elders, and researchers—underpins strong outcomes and a mission-driven commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, accepted, and valued within their family and community.
