What is Bone Cancer Treatment?
Bone cancer is an unnecessary growth of the cells that form inside the bone. Bone cancer is also known as bone sarcoma and it is an uncommon cancer that can grow in any bone of the body. It is harmful for other bones of the body. Most probably it originates from long bones like legs or arms. Chemotherapy is the major treatment for Bone Cancer. Radiotherapy and medicines are also used to treat some types of Bone Cancer. Surgery is a crucial part of treatment. It is used to remove the cancer from the bone. Sometimes it’s not possible to remove bone cancer using surgery deep within the body, such as the pelvis. Radiotherapy is mainly used to treat Ewing Sarcoma. Radiotherapy can be either before or after surgery. Radiotherapy treatment may be used as the major treatment; it is not possible to have surgery to remove the Bone Cancer.
