The Engineering Executive (EngExec) is a title coming with global recognition for those pre-eminent individuals in executive positions who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and talent. After an excellent career that has culminated in a senior leadership position, attaining this status is the next step in your career.

The EngExec title is not limited to engineering professionals. In fact, those working as senior business leaders in the engineering sector but are not engineers can also attain this credential.

Achieving the EngExec level also comes with an opportunity to play a major role in shaping the future of the Australian engineering profession.

The exclusive nature of this title means that the opportunity to apply for it is only for chosen individuals on an invitation-only basis.

Application process and eligibility criteria:

Qualified applicants will get a detailed invitation letter, which will explain how to apply for the EngExec title.

It’s not mandatory for you to be a member of Engineers Australia to be invited to apply for this credential. However, if you are not an EA member, join as an EA member in the application process.

Eligibility criteria need applicants to possess 15 or more years of industry experience and be in a senior leadership and management role. In addition, you have to be able to show the necessary leadership and management competencies for the grade of EngExec and complete a self-assessment if you are invited to apply.

Professional interview:

A professional interview with an EA assessor is the last step for you to get the credential of EngExec Engineers Australia. 

The authority will contact you for a time so that your professional interview can be arranged with one of the EA assessors, and you will get an invitation to the online Teams or Skype interview.

The interview will run nearly one hour and will include a wide discussion about your engineering career and your responses to the questions in the self-assessment form.
