Management simulator Domina has been delisted from Steam after developer Dolphin Barn Interactive used the platform to share a transphobic outburst.

In a news post on its Steam page, the studio claimed that the game’s name had been changed to Dominus, and referred to Domina as its "deadname," before mocking the trans community in a long paragraph mentioning the "sex change" of the title.

After Steam owner Valve previously dished out a temporary ban to Dolphin Barn, the digital storefront has now gone one step further and permanently banned them from posting to their own game’s hub. According to a message Dolphin Barn posted to Domina’s official Twitter account — before that was suspended, too, along with Gorissen’s personal account — the ban was the result of them targeting another user with their comments and for making “various rule violations.”

In the post accompanying the screenshot, Domina's creator denounced the game's delisting using a homophobic slur, and accused Valve of placing him in poverty immediately before saying Domina brought Valve founder Gabe Newell "millions in revenue". The dev has not said if he has any further plans for the game; later posts on his Gab are dedicated to attacking Valve and non-binary journalist and streamer James Stephanie Sterling, who recently made a video about this whole situation (opens in new tab).

Domina's Steam page now says the game is no longer for sale "at the request of the publisher," but a note from Steam on the discussions page shared via Resetera confirmed that the title had been removed by a member of Steam Support, with the following reason.

Dolphin Barn and Gorissen were given the moniker of Steam’s “most unlikeable developer” by Stephanie Sterling, a YouTube creator whose video outlining Gorissen’s exploits seemingly marked the beginning of the end for the dev. After Sterling’s video highlighting Domina’s various bizarre patch notes brought further scrutiny upon Gorissen, the developer took to Twitter to criticize the YouTuber, with his comments eventually leading to his ban on the platform.
