For the last 20+ years, the Air Jordan 4 has been celebrated and reimagined in a plethora of ways as just one of the many embodiments of MJ’s winning mentality along with Tinker’s innovative and fashion-forward craftsmanship. The pair goes back in time as the colorway is set to mirror similar color blocking to that of the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Thunder” which originally debuted in 2006 and was seen once more in 2012.Die-hard Jordan fans are always set on securing every new colourway of every Air Jordan model there is out there, most especially if it's a retro release of an OG design or something fairly similar to it. The all-new Jordan 4 Red Thunder is undeniably one of many releases from undefined and the Jordan Brand that has the sneaker community talking.
Following similar color blocking as the Air Jordan 4 Thunder, the Air Jordan 4 Red Thunder features an all-black Durabuck upper with red netted underlays and eyelets.Nubuck construction across most of the upper boasts an all-dark makeup that allows for hits of red at the mid-foot and tongue to revel in the spotlight; molded eyelets and midsole detailing underfoot follow suit. Unsurprisingly, the pair forgoes any “NIKE AIR” logo on the spine in favor of a light grey Jumpman. Most of the outsole indulges in a pitch-black tone, although some tread and branding keep it from donning a uniform look.
Teaming up with Virgil Abloh, the Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low White Red nods to the crumbling state of the original we plucked from the archives. This exclusive model, dubbed “Varsity Red”, was engineered through three-dimensional scans of an edition from the Nike archive worn by Michael Jordan. This design process yielded unique results: each shoe of the pair has a different cracked midsole that represents 35 years of the AJ2.The smooth white leather upper is paired with pebbled white overlays in the side panel. Bold red outlines that run around the shoe serves as a nice accent to an otherwise all-white base. Unique markings and features such as Michael Jordan’s signature, exposed collar and laces cheekily labelled “SHOELACES” in Off-White’s signature Helvetica font rounds off the sneaker’s unique look.
