Apart from that, APEGS investigates allegations of professional incompetence or professional misconduct of registrants and takes necessary action against the individual. It prevents the illegal practice of engineering or geoscience by unlicensed individuals. 

APEGS provides opportunities for professional development, including continuing education courses and networking events.
