After retiring from the military, Levi leads a life marked by solitude and a lack of direction. His routine is disrupted when Bartholomew, a CIA officer, recruits him for his exceptional sniping talents, offering a year-long assignment in a secretive location. Once on site, Levi meets J.D., the sniper he is replacing, and is introduced to a vast gorge, along with his new home in the West Tower, which overlooks this deep ravine. Levi's task is to monitor the gorge, which is also the site of the East Tower, where Drasa, a Lithuanian sniper working for the Russians, resides. As they attempt to communicate, Levi and Drasa forge a long-distance relationship, learning to trust one another as the seasons change.
